Bullet-hell, roguelike action shooter in pixel art style. And not serious at all. Version 1.0 coming on 11.11.2026, but you can play the Early Access version now on Microsoft Store, Google Play and Itch.io.
Black Ninja Cowboy is a pixel-art bullet-hell roguelike that takes revenge very seriously and everything else not at all. Half cowboy, half ninja, fully done with life — his parents were wiped out in a clan war nobody bothers to explain properly, and now he's blasting through dungeon after dungeon looking for whoever's behind it. Start with a trusty revolver (one bullet, pure heart) and work your way up to unloading six at once, while stumbling onto a whole arsenal of surprises along the way — because a cowboy-ninja never sticks to just one trick. Gun down enemies for gold, dump it into upgrades, and eventually get your hands on something a little more... nuclear. Every dungeon throws new enemies at you, each one dumber and more chaotic than the last, pulled from a blender of Wild West grit, far-Eastern mysticism, and unmistakably Balkan nonsense — because why not. Along the way you'll meet NPCs whose advice ranges from useless to actively dangerous, and dialogue that makes zero sense and somehow still helps. Revenge, chaos, and a nuke. What else do you need?
Guide to the game: You start with the base map, where you can explore the world, enter different dungeons, talk to NPCs, and upgrade your gear. There are two types of dungeons: one with many different enemies, where you earn gold by eliminating them, and another where there is only one boss. You won't get gold there, but by defeating the boss, you get a key to unlock the next dungeon. The gathered gold can be used to upgrade your weapons in different workshops. Each weapon has its own place to upgrade. You start with your revolver, but you can unlock many more weapons by talking to the NPCs. You can track your weapon stats in the journal, as well as your progress in finding all the weapons. You can find collectible items in each dungeon, and you can track your all-time stats at the bounty board near the saloon. (this is my very first video game, it is similar to the Vampire Survivor, but more fun and not serious at all)
This game was made in Gdevelop, a free and open-source NO-CODE game engine. It's a solo development project, and I implemented everything myself: programming, pixel art (own creations and AI creations too), music (AI-generated tracks and Pixabay musics), sound effects, and marketing. I learned a lot during the development process, and I hope to continue improving my skills and making more games in the future.
